The decision to call this apartment “the Borgia's Apartment” want to be a sort of tribute to Lucrezia Borgia that was not only one of the most notorious women in history but was also Duchess of Spoleto in the years around 1499.
We don’t agree with Victor Hugo that described Lucrezia as "the most hideous, the most repulsive, the most complete moral deformity" .
Because of her associations with unscrupulous relatives, her reputation suffered, but historians agree that charges of crime and vice against her are without historical proof.
We absolutely believe that after five centuries, it is time to re-examine Lucrezia as a great patron of the arts and an astute politician and not only as a cruel poisoner.
15th century lovely apartments nicely restored in the town centre close to the castle. Their wonderful position allows guests to reach all the major cultural attractions including: Duomo Cathedral, Ancient Roman Theatre, the Rocca, museums, theaters, or you can dip down across the several narrows streets enjoying the beautiful palaces, churches and typical shops.
The best restaurants of the town are at walking distance (20 metres!!!)
the apartments retains the original features such as wooden beamed ceiling and
the architecture is medieval, of brick, stone, earth, and lime plaster, with brick floors, and oak.
